Tecktonik Dance AI, 2008 vs 2026: Put Today's You on the Red Stage

Tecktonik dance AI is a fixed template, not a prompt: one photo takes Cheba Man's place on the red-lit outdoor stage where his May 2026 reel revived the 2007 Paris club dance (Tecktonik, tektonik or electro dance), and the reel's "Love Is Gonna Save Us" track stays on. Make the 2026 half here, then set it next to your own 2008 footage.

How the dance got from a Paris club to your phone

  1. 2002

Tecktonik Killer nights start at the Métropolis club in Rungis, south of Paris.

  2. 2007

The arm-heavy club dance is a teenage craze across France.

  3. 2008

Two brothers film themselves dancing it in sync in a small room.

  4. May 2026

Cheba Man dances it alone on a red-lit party stage; the reel goes viral.

  5. Oct 2026

What Tecktonik dance AI is, and what the 2008 clip is not

Tecktonik dance AI recasts one specific 2026 clip. It does not recreate the 2008 living-room video, and a text prompt alone can't reproduce it.

What you upload
One photo of one person: you today, or you in 2007–2009. JPG, PNG or WebP up to 30 MB, 300–6000 px on each side.
The clip you join
Cheba Man's reel from late May 2026: a solo Tecktonik routine on a raised outdoor stage under strong red light and festoon bulbs, filmed on a phone from inside the crowd, one shot with no cuts.
Who changes
Only the dancer. Your face, hair, build and clothes come from your photo; the sunglasses and striped shirt don't carry over unless your photo has them. Everyone in the crowd is redrawn as invented people.
What stays
The stage, the red light, the bulbs, the building behind, the shaky camera and the timing of every arm move. That is what the model aims for; small changes can happen between takes.
Sound
The reel's audio, Benny Benassi's "Love Is Gonna Save Us", is laid back under the finished MP4. If it can't be added, the job fails and refunds rather than delivering a silent video.
Length and frame
The full 16 seconds on Seedance 2.5; 5, 10 or 15 seconds (the opening of the routine) on every model. Vertical 9:16 at 480p by default, 720p, or 1080p on Seedance 2.0 Pro and 2.5.

2008 vs 2026: the clips behind the comeback

"Tecktonik" posts mix four kinds of footage. Knowing which is which tells you what you can make here and what has to come from your own camera roll.

Why Tecktonik came back in 2026

The dance never left the internet's memory. The 2026 version is one viral reel, a wave of then-and-now reposts, and then AI templates.

Why Tecktonik came back in 2026
WhenWhat happened
2002Cyril Blanc and Alexandre Barouzdin run "Tecktonik Killer" nights at the Métropolis club in Rungis. The dance that grows there mixes glowstick-style arm patterns with disco and vogue poses.
2006–2007Peak craze in France, spread by early YouTube and Dailymotion videos, with its own look: neon colours, slim jeans, mullets and crests. "Tecktonik" is a registered brand, so dancers also call it electro dance.
2008The style travels across Europe and to Russia. The two-brothers living-room video is filmed around this time.
~2009The fad fades about as fast as it rose; writers on its history point to overexposure through merchandise, TV and endless compilations.
May 2026Cheba Man's solo routine on a red-lit party stage, to "Love Is Gonna Save Us", goes viral; Spinnin' Records reposts it on TikTok, where it passes a million plays.
2026"2008 vs 2026" posts pair the brothers' clip with his reel. People who danced it as teenagers start filming their own versions.

How to make a 2008 vs 2026 Tecktonik video

The 2026 half comes from this page. The 2008 half should be yours: an old clip, or the old photo you turn into the 2026 half.

  1. 01

    Find your 2008 half

Dig out a clip or photo of yourself from 2007–2009: a phone video from a party, a camcorder tape, a school photo in your neon days. Use your own footage, not the brothers' video or Cheba Man's reel.

  2. 02

    Make the 2026 half here

Upload one full-body photo of you today (or that old photo, if you want your teenage self on the 2026 stage). Keep 16 seconds on Seedance 2.5 for the whole routine, or test a 5-second Mini cut first.

  3. 03

    Put them side by side

In CapCut or Instagram's Edits app, put the 2008 clip first and the 2026 video second, or stack them. Label each half with its year, keep one soundtrack for the whole edit, and turn on the app's AI label when you post.

Both work. The clothes and hair in the video come from the photo, so the photo decides which version of you dances.

Which 2007 moves are in the 2026 routine

If you danced it back then, you will know most of these. Your video follows the same timing; shorter lengths stop earlier rather than speeding up.

2–4.5Forearms crossing and rolling in front of the face and chestThe core of electro dance: fast wraps and wrist rolls, all from the elbows.
4.5–7.5Both arms snap out, fingers pointing; one arm loops over the headSharp stops between wraps, the freezes that made it look mechanical.
7.5–10A wide sideways sweep with a lean, then the forearms cross againTravelling arm lines that show off the reach.
10–16Elbows up, an arm wrapped over the head, a knee lift, then fast sweeps bent lowHead wraps and the low finish, where AI is most likely to smear the arms.

Which song: the 2008 one or the 2026 one?

Your MP4 already carries the 2026 track, and that track is older than it sounds.

  • The red-stage reel plays "Love Is Gonna Save Us": first released by Benny Benassi presents The Biz in 2003, remade with ARTBAT in 2025. It was already in clubs before Tecktonik peaked.
  • Use one soundtrack for the whole edit. Two songs fighting at the cut sounds like a mistake; run the 2026 track under both halves, or start the 2008 half on its own audio and let the cut land on the drop.
  • Fans of the original era pair their old clips with tracks like Mondotek's "Alive" (2007) or Yelle's "À cause des garçons". Add those from the app's sound library rather than from a downloaded file.
  • Personal posts only. The track belongs to its rights holders and this tool does not license it for ads. If TikTok or Instagram mutes the audio, remove it and pick the official sound in the app.
  • TikTok, Instagram and YouTube ask you to label realistic AI video. Switch the AI label on for the 2026 half.

The 2008 Tecktonik brothers: who they are and where they are now

The "2008" half of most nostalgia posts. We kept to what we could check.

It is a home video, usually dated 2008 and described as two brothers in Russia, dancing the same arm routine side by side in a small living room. It spread on early YouTube and came back in 2026 as the "before" of countless 2008 vs 2026 posts.

Where are they now? The reposts we checked do not name them reliably, and we found no verified interview, so we don't guess. Treat accounts claiming to be them with care.

Please don't put their faces into AI videos: they are private people in a home video. Other tools remake that room with your own two photos and invented dancers (see the last example below); this page remakes the 2026 stage only.

Tecktonik dance AI FAQ

Is the Tecktonik dance AI trend the same thing as the old French Tecktonik?

Same dance, new clip. Tecktonik (also written tektonik or tectonic, and called electro dance) is the arm-heavy club dance from the Paris area in 2006–2008. The AI trend is a 2026 template: your photo replaces Cheba Man in his red-stage reel, which revived the dance in May 2026. Nothing from 2007 is regenerated.

Why are people suddenly making AI videos of themselves doing 2007-style Tecktonik?

Nostalgia with a fresh trigger. Cheba Man's reel went viral in May 2026, reposts paired it with the 2008 brothers' video, and the people who danced it as teenagers are now in their thirties and on TikTok. A one-photo template lets them post their own 2026 version without learning the moves again.

Can AI recreate the classic 2007-era Tecktonik look with my face?

Partly. The stage stays the 2026 one, but your look comes from the photo: wear the neon top and slim jeans, or upload a scan of yourself from 2007, and that is who dances. For the grainy club footage itself, use your own old clips as the 2008 half of the edit.

I used a photo from 2008 and the face doesn't look like me. What helps?

Old photos are small and soft, and the dancer is small in a red-lit frame. Use the sharpest scan you have, crop to you alone without upscaling a tiny face, remove heavy colour casts, and try 720p. A 5-second Mini cut is a cheap way to compare photos first; failed jobs are refunded.

My 2008 vs 2026 split-screen looks blurry on Reels and Shorts. How do I keep it sharp?

Splitting a vertical screen shrinks each half. Use a hard cut instead of side-by-side, generate the 2026 half at 720p or 1080p, export the edit at 1080×1920, and upload over Wi-Fi with the app's high-quality upload setting on.

Can I make it on Android without installing an app?

Yes. Open this page in Chrome on Android, add a photo from your gallery, sign in and generate; the vertical MP4 downloads to your phone. You only need an editing app if you want to join it to your 2008 clip.

Which song goes on a 2008 vs 2026 edit, and will TikTok mute it?

The generated video keeps "Love Is Gonna Save Us" from the reel; run that one track under both halves. Personal posts are fine; if an app mutes or flags the audio, remove it and add the official sound from the app's library. The track isn't licensed for ads.

Your turn on the 2026 stage

One photo, up to 16 seconds with the reel's track. The 2008 half is already in your camera roll.
